It is not easy to handle the fork lifts, trailer loader, stacker truck or side loader. The driver should be aware of the pit falls, walls, hills, drop offs, pot holes and any other obstacle that might come in your way. This awareness helps them to avert any mistakes and also to avoid such pot holes and walls. They should be able to transport it in safer manner and with out causing harm to others.
Proper training must be made available to the operators such that they are fully trained before they set of to work. If they are working on a new site, inspecting the area would be idle in order to avert any calamity. They should be trained on pre-ride inspections, turning slowly and carefully, starting and stopping, swerving, looking out for obstacles and riding over this. You should also know emergency stopping tips and be cautious while travelling near the hills.
Find out what are the requirements and conditions for permitted entry. If there are any difficult areas in the site, locate it first. You need to know how to overcome them. Also know about the precautions and procedures that you need to follow. Quickly identify the warning signs as you need to take your next step based on that. Learn all the rescue avenues that are opened out to you. What are the hazardous effects it may have and the rescue modes you need to use. If some one was to be exposed to the cargos carried, what are the symptoms of getting exposed to it?
